Massage
Sports Massage is is a deep and specific therapy designed to both release tension and also restore soft tissue such as muscles, tendons and ligaments. Function, mobility and fitness can all be improved.
It involves the manipulation of "soft tissue" (connective tissue that has not hardened into bone or cartilage). This includes skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia, which is a form of connective tissue that lines and ensheathes muscle. Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused by repetitive and strenuous physical activity.
Deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It's used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
Relaxation massage is a hands on therapy using gentle manual therapy techniques to increase blood flow, release off tension and relieve stress. Relaxation massage will also help anxiety, aid relaxation, sleep and promote well-being.
